From the Opening Remarks by TMCnet Senior Editor Peter Bernstein, straight through to the end of day networking reception, the value you receive by attending SecureIT is unparalled.

The information you acquire from the SecureIT conference sessions will help you to make better, safer decisions for your company. The networking opportunities are abundant and the take aways from this event could literally save your company from cyber threats.

There is no single more important investment in your future and the future of your company than to attend this one day event July 23, 2013, in New York City.

Conference Sessions include:

9:35 – 10:20 AM
BYOD and Enterprise Security − "Bring Your Own Destruction?"
BYOD has changed irrevocably the enterprise security paradigm. Employees routinely bypass IT to get what they want, when they want and need it—creating a "shadow IT" that is causing "IT Anarchy." Simultaneously bad actors are exploiting what they see as a "target rich" environment to wreak havoc that is growing in frequency, sophistication and destructiveness, and all of this at a time when corporate governance is requiring that all things digital be accounted for and secured. Opening session will provide a unique perspective on where we are with securing the enterprise in a BYOD world, including how we got here, the threat landscape, and the issues BYOD raises as it continues to permeate enterprises of all sizes and geographies by one of the world’s recognized experts.

10:20 – 11:05 AM
How the Bad Guys View Your Enterprise and its Targets of Opportunity
This session will explore how BYOD changed the enterprise security paradigm by expanding the number of vectors for bad actors to exploit. It will examine why they go after what they do and weapons of choice such as DDoS, malware, bots, etc. Topics to be explored include: who are the bad guys and what do they really want, evaluation of internal and external exploits, how attack choices are changing as BYOD becomes more pervasive, and how this is driving the need for a new holistic approach to security.

11:05 – 11:20 AM
Networking Coffee Break
Opportunity to interact with speakers and attendees

11:20 – 12:05 PM
Identity is the New Perimeter: Who are You and What are you Using?
This first panel will look at authentication starting with people and their association with their devices. It will explore how multi-factor authentication and the move to single sign-on capabilities (proprietary and now the FIDO initiative) are being used to validate that users and their devices are authorized to access critical corporate networks and data, and can also be used for secure mobile payments. It will include looking at the problem of what to do when a device is lost or has fallen into the wrong hands, and how next generation authentication addresses these and other issues.

12:05 – 12:50 PM
Moving from Mobile Device Management to Mobile Applications Management —do you really know what is out there and how it can be managed?
Building on the issues surrounding identity, the panel will provide perspectives from device vendors as well as device and applications management solutions providers on the challenges of identity separation and focus on solutions as to who and how the confluence of people, devices and apps can and should be managed.

12:50 – 1:50 PM
Luncheon
Why are we purposely Exposing Ourselves? How unprotected file transfers invite disaster In many cases we are our own worst enemies when it comes to possible harm caused by exchanging unprotected file transfers like emails, especially those with sensitive attachments. This is a big problem that does not get the headlines it should. Find out how to assure your company does not fall victim to "reply to all" problems and other issues related to the safe sending of files from any device to any device. Plus, learn what to do about the growing "Dropbox Effect" and protecting against the downloading of possibly harmful large files that are circumventing your existing defenses.

1:50 – 2:35 PM
BYOD and the Cloud—Friend and/or Foe?
A diverse panel will discuss the pros and cons of the Cloud as both facilitator of what has in fact become somewhat of a problem known as "applications creep" but also as a viable solution for IT regaining control.

2:35 – 3:20 PM
BYOD and the Secure Network Connection
WANs, VPNs, Cellular and Wi-Fi are all networking capabilities that BYODs use to access and interact with critical enterprise information. Reality is they all present security challenges in a BYOD context for enterprise security as mobile access has literally become the X-factor. What IT needs to be concerned about in making choices and implementing policies and rules make both enterprise-based and remote mobile access secure along with the sessions BYODs create.

3:20 – 3:35 PM
Networking Coffee Break
Opportunity to interact with speakers and attendees

3:35 – 4:10 PM
Encryption and Certificates—Who is Minding the Keys?
A diverse panel of industry experts will provide perspectives and recommendations as to what you need to consider to assure that your security measures are being optimized instead open to being compromised?

4:10 – 5:00 PM
CIO/CSO Roundtable—Reestablishing IT Centrality
With IT controlling roughly 50 percent of mobile budgets but having 100 percent responsibility for security and compliance, hear what leading IT executives are doing to insure that IT has the tools and cooperation it needs to maintain its centrality by taking a holistic approach to becoming a non-invasive and non-intrusive BYOD security gatekeeper.

5:00 – 6:30 PM
